Antigone

Presented by Marion Civic Theatre, Sophocles’ play is a Greek tragedy written in 441 B. C.  Antigone picks up as Oedipus has just passed away in Colonus. Antigone and her sister decide to return to Thebes with the intention of helping their brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices, avoid a prophecy that predicts they will kill each other in a battle for the throne of Thebes. But upon her arrival in Thebes, Antigone learns that both of her brothers are dead. Indiana Wesleyan University Theatre Department Presents

Die Fledermaus.  Music by Johann Strauss, II and Libretto by Richard Genee and Carl Haffner.  Composed non-stop in forty-two ‘nights of veritable rapture’ this is the younger Strauss’s most celebrated and popular operetta.  Mistaken identities, flirtations at a masked ball, elegant frivolities and confusions of all kinds provide a hilarious vehicle for some of the most captivating music ever written.
