Blooms & Berries Festival

Celebrate the sweet taste of summer with flats of luscious strawberries, or give in to your sweet tooth and enjoy an ice cream sundae or shortcake with ripe, fresh, sweet strawberries. Wonderful family fun in Upland, Indiana!  Crafts, food vendors, and the Upland Garden Club will sell annuals and perennials. Games and a bounce house for the kids, and live entertainment all day. Flats of strawberries from 10am-2pm, or individual containers are available. Pre-orders call 765-998-2103.  Event sponsored by the Upland Historical Society, the Upland Lions Club, and the Upland Garden Club.

Books & Bikes Art Festival

This event, hosted by the Bend of the River Neighborhood Association, features live music and vendors showcasing the work of local artisans. Centered around Curfman’s Cyclery, the Little Free Library and their neighborhood Community Gardens. Enjoy a family bike ride, book readings, food, art, crafts, antiques, up-cycles, and fun for the entire family.

Cardinal Greenway

Enjoy biking, hiking, or jogging along the beautiful portion of the Cardinal Greenway rail-trail project in Grant County. Major trailheads with parking are located in Marion behind Westwood Square on Miller Avenue between 2nd and 6th Streets, at Hogin Park at Valley Avenue and 14th Street, and in Jonesboro/Gas City at the intersection of SR 22/35 and Water Street, just east of SR 15. The trail funs for 17 miles through Jonesboro, Gas City, Marion, Sweetser, and Converse. No motorized vehicles allowed on trail.

Child’s Play on the Greenway

Family Fun in Grant County!  Join us for a family bike ride that starts at the Gas City/Jonesboro Cardinal Greenway trailhead.  Registration begins at 1:30pm.  The ride goes to the Deer Creek Area, and then returns to the starting point.   $1 donation for each participant – donations used for upkeep and maintenance on the Grant County portion of the trail. Trail Mix for purchase available during the event.

Christmas in July at the Mississinewa Lake

Join us as we celebrate Christmas in July!  We’ll also celebrate Smokey Bear’s birthday with fun events. Campsite decorating contest, sand sculpture, water games, and more. Call us for details.

Community Day Obstacle Course & Fishing

Join us for this fun family day!  Fun obstacle course includes rope swing, tire run, zip line, water cannon, and much more. Small fee to run the course. Funds raised help low-income families in Marion. Free activities including fishing at the Matter Park pond. Picnic, prizes, giveaways. Get your tickets today!  

Culpepper & Merriweather Circus

The big top comes to Converse! Bring your friends and family!  Showtimes 5pm and 7:30pm. Sponsored by the Converse Volunteer Fire Department. Advance tickets available at the Converse Library, Converse Circle K, Converse Hardware, Converse Town Hall, & Marty’s Pub: Adults $10, Child/Senior $7. Circus Day tickets: Adult $13, Child/Senior $8.

Bring your family and let’s discuss Frankenstein by Mary Shelly! Discussion led by Amy Brainerd.  Limited to 10 families. Please sign up in the Children’s Room at the library. We’ll meet in the Children’s Activity Room.
