Gas City Museum

The Gas City museum displays a wide range of artifacts from Gas City’s past. The displays include artifacts from Gas City Hall, the Avalon Hotel, the Arcade Theater, the natural Gas Boom, glass factories, railroad, and local artists.  Find out how Gas City played a role in the development of East Central Indiana. From business and industry, to schools, to home and lifestyle, to our city and it’s history, we invite you to visit and discover our heritage.  Displays are continually changing.  Open Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm April through November.

Gas City Park

The Gas City Park features shelter houses, ball diamonds, tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds and fishing for kids. Festivals held here annually include Summer Concerts in the Park Series, Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration, Labor Day Weekend Celebration, Ducktail Run Rod & Custom Show in September, and a Christmas light display each December. Grant County’s Garfield Trail

Fairmount Indiana is the hometown of Jim Davis, creator of the comic strip Garfield. And Jim Davis’ and Garfield’s presence continue to be felt throughout east central Indiana with Grant County’s Garfield Trail. Visit twelve unique statues of America’s favorite lasagna-loving fat cat, Garfield. Located in Marion, Indiana and surrounding Grant County cities, the statues each measure approximately five feet in height and depict Jim Davis’s Garfield in fun costumes or situations. Green Acres Campground

Open year round. Conveniently located just off of State Road 18.13 RV sites with water, electricity, and sewage.  Primitive camping available as well. Shady pull through sites. Quiet and relaxing campground featuring fishing pond, large campfire pits, firewood, bathrooms, showers and more.  Check out the Memorial Day Weekend or Labor Day Weekend annual music festivals, or many of the other festivals they have every camping season.
